Dan Brown: Il codice Da Vinci

It was funny to read, not complex and not a masterpiece regarding the writing (poorly written as someone stated) but entertaining. Reading it in a mere 4 days it’s a mix of curiosity, determination not to spend too much time on a book and lack of sleep: I prefer to finish a book as soon as possible to catch the full essence of the story.Of course a detective/conspiracy theory book could be easily interesting although not real, but has some interesting points like the one regarding history (i.e. “history being (re-)written by the winners” and the history-facts dilemma), some (easy?) codes/enigma, fine art explained, important location and so on… On the other side, by letting the reader think of what is true and what is not, you are also challenged to expand your personal belief to a much wider meaning. I don’t think that this book is against the Church and/or Christianity, probably if you think so it’s because you’re full of true faith which is, sorry to say, quite rare among normal people (i.e. if you’re not a priest)… more probably it’s only a nuisance that makes your (lack of) faith tremble.
At some point the book seemed to me like a giant invitation, like hearing a whisper, that says “go out there and investigate further”: as Wikipedia noted fans think that the book is “thought-provoking”… well, it worked for me.
