Eh sì, il buon Orwell ci aveva visto bene. E’ possibile riscrivere la storia. E ne ho scoperta un’altra (grazie al solito Attivissimo). Questa moda di ritoccare i film l’ho sempre trovata insopportabile. Già sapete che sono intransigente sulla trilogia di Guerre Stellari tanto da non guardare le “Special Edition” (sono ALTRI film). Un altro mito stroncato è E.T.: per avere la versione originale del 1982 bisogna tenersi strette le VHS perché nel DVD del ventennale qualcuno ha pensato bene di ridoppiarlo. Come ciliegina sulla torta c’è anche il politically correct che avanza e quindi si eliminano/alterano le scene senza mezzi termini a volte con metodi da macellaio, eccovi un estratto da IMDB relativo a “Fantasia”, capolavoro della Walt Disney (dalla sezione Alternate Versions):
The original “Pastoral Symphony” segment featured extremely politically-incorrect “pickaninny”-type African American little-girl centaurs who perform servant duties for the female centaurs. These scenes were first edited in the 1969 re-release of the film by physically cutting the offending footage from the film (resulting in an obvious sound jump). For the 1990 and 2000 re-releases, the offending shots were magnified so that Black centaurs do not appear in the frame. The Fantasia Anthology notes the editing of this footage, although the copy of Fantasia that comes with the set is listed as being “The Original Uncut Version.” A brief account of this story and at least one actual cel photograph are presented in the book “Cartoon Confidential” by Jim Korkis and John Cawley (Malibu Graphics Press).
Basta! Pensate che mi da fastidio anche la semplice modifica che hanno fatto in “Una settimana da Dio”: nel DVD le scene del cercapersone sono state rifatte per non far vedere il numero di telefono di Dio, che parecchi americani [stupidi] avevano chiamato sul serio!
Se a volte è difficile accorgersene nei film figuriamoci con le notizie che contano!
